Kris thought the only person who knew was Katy, Katy because Kris shared every part of his life with her, even the less noble parts, the hard parts. Especially the hard parts. But that was before he saw Megan watching them out of the corner of her eye, saw Adam giving him a tiny, sly smile, and now watched Anoop discreetly leave the room as Matt came in.
"Did you...?" he said, watching the door close behind him. "Did you tell anyone?"
"Are you kidding?" said Matt. "No. No way. Not a soul, man."
"Then how do they know?" said Kris. "We've been discreet. We've been so careful. I promised Katy--"
"They don't know anything," Matt said, grabbing Kris by the belt loop and yanking him roughly closer. "How could they know anything? Why would they even think there's anything do know?"
"Maybe I'm just being paranoid," said Kris, finally looking away from the door and letting himself be pulled flush against Matt's body. "Maybe they're staring because I have toilet paper on my shoe."
Matt didn't even look, just leaned down and pressed a kiss to Kris's temple, right by the corner of his eye, finger still hooked on Kris's jeans. "Must be it," he said. "Or someone said weird things about you on the internet."
"Probably that," said Kris, tilting his head up so Matt could give him a proper kiss while they had this stolen moment. It was fast and wet and a little rough around the edges and it was everything Kris wanted in that moment. "As long as it's still our secret."
"I'm the last person who's going to go around telling everyone I bagged Kris Allen," he said. Kris was just glad he didn't go with 'banged'. "They'd slaughter me in the press. And what's worse, my mom would kick my ass for being a homewrecker."
"You're not, you know," said Kris. "You know that, right?"
"Yeah, but try explaining that to my mom," he said. "Actually, don't. Let's stick with the secret part. Do you think we have enough time to make out?"
"No," said Kris, regretfully because every other part of him was trying to convince him that yes, yes they definitely had time for at least a grope, if nothing else. "But later, after everyone's asleep."
"Bunk sex is the best sex," said Matt, and Kris smiled as it dawned on him that maybe Matt actually liked being gagged so they didn't wake anyone up. The thought wasn't doing anything to convince any part of him that this was a really bad idea right now.
"Later," he promised again, to both Matt and his dick. "We have a show to get ready for."
He looked at the door again until Matt finally let him go. But Kris didn't move right away, just lingered there close to his body, then kicked the toe of Matt's shoe with his own and grinned at him and turned to open the door.
Adam was lingering out there in the hallway, phone to his ear and leaning against the wall. As Kris opened the door he nodded at him, then pressed something on the phone with his thumb and put it away.
"You could've come in," he said. "It's just me and Matt in here."
"I know," said Adam, and Kris looked back over his shoulder, watched Matt saunter casually over to a table at the back of the room, getting himself something to drink. He didn't know if he watched too long or if Adam just moved quickly, but the next thing he knew he felt Adam's hand on his shoulder, steering him into the room.
A few moments later Anoop wandered back in too, then Danny a few moments after him, talking loudly on his phone and heading right to the food.
"Hey guys," said Kris as the door closed again behind them. Adam had steered them against the wall out of the way, hand still on him and standing close by his side.
"The bus is smaller than you think," said Adam finally, and softly, as he squeezed Kris's shoulder. "Just thought you might like to know."
"Oh," breathed Kris. "It's...not what you think."
"I'm pretty sure it's exactly what I think," said Adam, keeping his mouth close to Kris's ear, and the conversation private. "But you're Kris, so I trust that you know what you're doing. Are you happy?"
Kris couldn't help smiling at that, letting his eyes drift across the room to where Matt was trying to steal Danny's sandwich, and getting his hand swatted for his trouble. "Stupidly," he said. "Just...let me break it to them that you know, and we can talk about it later?"
"Maybe you should tell them that there are about eight other people who kind of sort of know something," said Adam, "and you might want to consider letting them on the secret too. Especially if you want some people to cover for you for the rest of the tour."
"Right," said Kris, biting on his lip for a moment, hoping that would go over at least moderately well. "Thank you. Just...thanks. I guess we have a lot to talk about."
"Don't worry," said Adam, squeezing him one last time before letting go, "I won't take up all of your night." Kris just tried not to blush at that, his eyes flicking to Matt again. "That's what friends are for."
